At MAPD (Association of and for Persons with Disabilities), we take pride in serving and
supporting the most vulnerable members of our community. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. However, persons with disabilities often face unique challenges that make it harder to achieve their goals. That is why at MAPD, we are committed to breaking down these barriers and creating a brighter future for all.
We have several ongoing projects aimed at assisting the underprivileged and persons with disabilities throughout the province of Mpumalanga. While we primarily focus on helping persons with disabilities, we are always happy to lend a hand to anyone in need.
One of the ways we are achieving this goal is through our new sewing project, EMPOWER UNLTD. As a non-profit organization that relies on donations, we understand the importance of financial stability. That’s why we decided to start a sewing factory to create a more secure income stream, and we’re thrilled to present our first products!

Our products are made of natural loofah sponge with cotton trimmings and are completely biodegradable and compostable.
We also offer reusable, foldable shopping bags made from polycotton shweshwe, which are not only environmentally friendly but also super convenient. These bags are easy to carry around in your handbag or store neatly in your car, making it a breeze to do your shopping while doing your part for the planet.
These products are not only helping us achieve our financial goals, but they also help us support both the environment and Persons with Disabilities.
Remember, disabled people face daily limitations but at MAPD,
we are not limited by anything.
